ARTrinsic Inc, the creators and organisers of the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, was proud to announce an exciting partnership with the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) as part of its ten-year celebrations in 2016.
The adult finalist portraiture works were on public display at WA’s State Art Gallery. The Black Swan Prize for Portraiture was the signature event of AGWA’s Portraiture Month from Saturday 8 – Monday 31 October 2016. This partnership enabled the popular exhibition to be on display for a longer than usual period of time, attracting a wider audience of art lovers and general public alike.
AGWA Director Stefano Carboni said “We are delighted to be welcoming the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture to AGWA and celebrating its ten year anniversary. Each year, the Prize has grown in popularity and stature, and I look forward to viewing the entries for this year’s Award.”
Another new initiative for the anniversary celebrations was a printed visual display of the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture Youth Awards in the Perth Cultural Centre from Tuesday 18th October 2016, along with the original Youth artworks being showcased at Brookfield Place – 125 St Georges Terrace, Perth from Monday 3 October 2016 for three weeks in conjunction with the Salon des Refusés.
